For an animal to travel by plane, it has to be at least 8 weeks old and weaned for at least five days. It is required health certificates and the rabies vaccine updated. The animal must have a passport, chip and all vaccinations up to date (there are some countries that have additional requirements like Ireland, UK and Sweden).

Regarding the transportation of the animals, there are also some rules that differ from airline to airline. Some animals may be transported in the cabin but only weighing less than 5 kg. Attention, there are limited number of animals to be transported in the same cabin.

In case the animal is traveling in the cargo hold, you should be informed about the conditions of carriage of the animal concerned, as airlines obey certain rules that vary for each airline. Usually the case where the animal should be transported has to be resistant, airy and with enough space for the animal to move.
